Prominent hip-hop artist and music executive Rick Ross was arrested by Miami Beach police early Thursday morning on multiple domestic violence charges, according to Miami-Dade county jail and court records.
Booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at 6:10 a.m. on October 1, 2026, Roberts faces a felony count of battery by strangulation and a misdemeanor battery charge, with bond set at a combined $6,000. The arrest follows recent social media allegations of physical abuse from his former girlfriend, Jazzma Kendrick.
Today's arrest report states that he allegedly choked his girlfriend of a year by her hoodie collar until she could not breathe, then repeatedly struck her chest and face.
Following his voluntary surrender, Roberts pleaded not guilty to the incident reported to police Sept. 29. The incident allegedly occurred Aug. 28 at a residence on Star Island. He has requested a jury trial ahead of his October 22nd arraignment.
Represented by defense attorney Bradley Horenstein, Roberts has an arraignment scheduled for October 22, 2026, while authorities have yet to release the full arrest affidavit.
