Tampa, FL - The Tampa Bay Rays have released the first interior renderings of their proposed new ballpark in Tampa, giving fans an early look at the design and amenities planned for the franchise's future home as discussions surrounding the project continue.
The images, first shown during the Rays' television broadcast Wednesday night, highlight several key features planned for the stadium, including a seating bowl designed to bring spectators closer to the field, expanded premium seating options and multiple club spaces throughout the venue.
Team officials noted that the design remains subject to refinement as planning for the project moves forward.
Among the proposed amenities is a larger version of the Rays' signature aquarium, which would be located near the main center field entrance.
The plans also include club areas adjacent to both bullpens, a center field bar overlooking the field above a retractable batter's eye and two oversized video boards that would rank among the largest in Major League Baseball.
The stadium would also feature a fixed translucent roof intended to allow natural light into the ballpark while protecting fans from Florida's heat and rain.
The proposed venue is expected to seat approximately 30,000 fans for baseball games, with flexibility to host larger crowds for concerts, conventions and other special events.
Team officials have said the goal is to create a more intimate baseball atmosphere while also providing a year round destination for entertainment and community events.
The stadium is planned as the centerpiece of a larger mixed use development near Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
The Rays continue working with local officials on funding and development agreements, with the organization targeting the opening of the new ballpark for the 2029 Major League Baseball season.
