JACKSONVILLE -- As a COVID-19 outbreak rages among in his city, Jacksonville's mayor wants people who've gotten the vaccine to stop picking on those who haven't.
Lenny Curry sent out a tweet with these words: "Stop shaming the unvaccinated. Share the facts we have and try to change minds. Get the shot."
The message comes as the city is dealing with a huge spike in COVID cases. News4Jax reports Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville topped its capacity of 304 beds due to a "significant increase" in hopsitalized COVID-19 patients. Nassau County, north of Jacksonville, reported the highest level of community transmission in the nation, among metropolitan counties.
