NASA sets Halloween launch date for Crew-3 mission

Kennedy Space Center tweeted 'No better treat than a rocket launch!' after NASA announced Tuesday a launch date of no earlier than October 31 for its SpaceX Crew-3 mission.

Three astronauts- Raja Chari, Tom Marshburn and Kayla Barron and European Space Agency astronaut Matthias Maurer will liftoff in a new Crew Dragon spacecraft on Halloween from KSC. They'll spend 6 months doing science on the International Space Station, joining the Crew-2 astronauts.

In November- the Crew-2 crew- NASA's Shane Kimbrough and Megan McArthur- Japanese astronaut Aki Hoshide and ESA astronaut Thomas Pesquet- is slated to return to earth off the Florida coast.

After the Crew-3 mission- the next manned launch isn't scheduled until the middle of April, 2022.
