FAU Study Finds Florida Is Among Worst In Nation In Young Infection Rates

Florida's COVID-19 infection rate for residents ages 25 and under is among the worst in the nation.

That's the finding of a study conducted at FAU by a professor of health administration.

"Infections don't stay in age cohorts. They travel from cohort to cohort."

Dr. Patrick Bernet says counties with older populations had lower infection rates than ones with younger populations, and younger counties had larger outbreaks that spread to older age groups.

Health officials around the state have been pushing to get younger residents vaccinated.
