Publix Has Moderna Vaccine Appointments Available In Some Florida Counties

There was no appointment-setting event for the Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine through Publix on Wednesday, but the supermarket chain made some appointments available for the Moderna vaccine in some Florida counties.

Publix is following guidance from the CDC and FDA, and suspending the use of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine at all of its pharmacy locations.

Wednesday's are typically the day that store sets aside to schedule weekend appointments for the J&J vaccine, but the feds are looking into blood clot concerns.

The website is open for people living in counties Moderna's COVID vaccine available. They include Duval, Highlands, Leon and Sarasota Counties.

No South Florida or Treasure Coast counties have Publix locations with the vaccine available at midday, though Indian River had some appointments available during the early morning hours.

Publix is expected to open its website for the Moderna vaccine in all Florida counties on Friday at 7 a.m.
