Spring Hill Woman Stuck With No Food After Surgery Helped By 1st Responders

SPRING HILL -- Hernando deputies and firefighters pitch in to help a woman who couldn't afford food after surgery.

A Hernando deputy checked on the Spring Hill woman after she told a health care facility that she had no food in her house and was going to pass out.

The woman had an operation after a traffic crash back on February 5th. She said she didn't have any money for food and the surgery left her too frail to leave the house. She had expected the home health care service offered post-surgery to bring her groceries, but that didn't happen.

Deputy Michael Ramos and Hernando paramedics reached into their own pockets and went to a Publix supermarket to stock the woman's pantry... bringing her to tears.

Her home health care service is making arrangements to get her groceries.
