Polo For A Cause In Wellington

Ascot Polo Club

Polo for a Purpose is a polo match with a purpose: all funds raised at the event are donated to pediatric cancer patients and their families.

It’s January 20th at the International Polo Club in Wellington.

This annual family event is the passion of Champion Polo Player Brandon Phillips, who at 14 was fighting non Hodgkin’s lymphoma and was given weeks to live.

Since its inception in 2014, Polo for Life has raised more than a million dollars that’s been donated locally to not only work to find a cure for childhood cancers, but to help patients and families impacted by cancer.

This year’s event will benefit 5 local charities including the Kid’s Cancer Foundation in Royal Palm Beach, the Pediatric Oncology Support Team in West Palm Beach, and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Foundation (which has a medical facility in Wellington).

Brandon joined us to talk about the event, his non-profit Polo for Life and his battle with cancer and how he's overcome it.
