"Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," the sequel to Tim Burton's 1988 hit horror comedy earned 110-million dollars in its opening weekend. That's makes it the second biggest September movie debut of all time. Disney's Marvel sequel "Deadpool & Wolverine" dropped to second place with six-point-four million in revenue in its seventh weekend in theaters. "Reagan" the biopic starring Dennis Quaid remained in third with just over five-million-dollars in ticket sales. Holdovers "Alien Romulous" and "It Ends With Us" round out the weekend's top five.
Turns out "The Boss" isn't the only member of the E Street Band or the Springsteen family who has been dealing with health issues. Bruce Springsteen's wife, Patti Scialfa [[ Skee-al-fuh ]], revealed in a new documentary that she was diagnosed with blood cancer six years ago. The 71-year-old backup vocalist admitted that "touring has been a challenge" for her. Scialfa joined the E Street Band in 1984 and married Springsteen in 1991. "Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band" premiered over the weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival.
USA Today has ranked the best cities to move to in the South. Number-one? Johnson City, Tennesee. The publication used metrics like home and rent prices, crime rates, unemployment, and severe weather events to determine the rankings. Johnson City was chosen for its beautiful views, low unemployment and high affordability. The second best city on the list was Roanoke Virginia, followed by Greenville, South Carolina; Lynchburg, Virginia; and Auburn, Alabama. More people moved to the South in 2023 than any other region in the U.S.
Brazilian musician Sergio Mendes is dead. TMZ reports he passed away in Los Angeles. He was known for his collaborations with Herb Alpert and Cannonball Adderley. Mendes' band Brasil '66 were a big part in popularizing the genre of bossa nova. During the 1970s, he updated the band's name to Brasil '77. In 1983, Mendes reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Never Gonna Let You Go." Sergio Mendes was 83.

Bloomberg reported Friday that the actress and singer is estimated to be worth one-point-three-billion dollars, making her, at age 32, one of the country's youngest female billionaires. The vast bulk of her fortune comes from her Rare Beauty cosmetics and makeup brand. Gomez has also made money as the world's third most-followed person on Instagram. Gomez is currently nominated for an Emmy Award for "Only Murders in the Building," and she's getting ready to return to her roots with the sequel series to Disney's hit show "Wizards of Waverly Place."

The NFL has announced the headliner for the Super Bowl 59 halftime show: It's Kendrick Lamar. He is one of the most acclaimed rap artists currently working in the music industry, having won 29 BET Awards, 17 Grammys and even a Pulitzer Prize for music. Kendrick Lamar's first number-one hit came when he collaborated with Taylor Swift on "Bad Blood." This won't be Lamar's first halftime show, having appeared alongside other West Coast hip-hop greats at Super Bowl 56. Super Bowl 59 will be played February 9th in New Orleans.
