The host for next year's Golden Globes has been announced. And, it's not Ricky Gervais, but it's someone capable of being just as mean. Comedian Nikki Glaser says she's "absolutely thrilled" to host the awards, adding that it's "not only a huge night for TV and film, but also for comedy." Glaser gained national attention earlier this year for her performance on "The Roast of Tom Brady." Her comedy special "Nikki Glaser: Someday You'll Die" is nominated for an Emmy this year. The 82nd annual Golden Globes will be held January 5th and air on CBS.

There will be a seventh film in the "Jurassic Park" franchise--and it now has a name. "Jurassic World Rebirth" will take place five years after the events of "Jurassic World Dominion", when Earth's ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. The remaining dinos live in an isolated environment that resembles one they once thrived in and the three biggest creatures in that region hold the key to a drug that could bring life saving benefits to the human race.
Fans of Shohei Ohtani are going wild about a limited edition bobblehead of the Dodgers superstar. The gold bobblehead depicts Ohtani holding his dog, "Decoy." 40-thousand units of the collectible were made available at Wednesday night's game in Los Angeles. Fans lined upto get one as early as seven a.m. A day later, it was not unusual to see those bobbleheads for sale online for as much as 20-thousand dollars. Wednesday night's game also featured Decoy throwing out the first pitch, actually carrying a baseball from the pitcher's mound to home plate where Ohtani was playing catcher.
A docuseries coming to Netflix will focus on WWE co-founder and former chairman Vince McMahon. It's called "Mr. McMahon" and consists of six one-hour episodes. Netflix says it will offer "an unflinching, no-holds-barred look at one of the most enigmatic figures in sports entertainment." McMahon resigned from WWE earlier this year after a former employee filed a lawsuit that accused him of sexual misconduct. "Mr. McMahon" will debut on September 25th.
California is considering adding new official state symbols. One bill aims to designate the banana slug as the official state slug. The banana slug is found in redwood forests throughout the state and has a unique relationship with redwood trees. Another bill is looking to make the Dungeness crab the official state crustacean. They're found along the northern and central coasts of California and are commonly served in restaurants.
If you enjoy placing bets, but you're not a sports fan, we may have found your "oasis." Several British bookmakers are placing odds on Oasis following their announcement this week of a reunion and a concert tour in 2025. Bookmakers are giving four-to-one odds that the Oasis tour includes playing during halftime of Super Bowl 60 in February 2026. There are also four-to-one odds that Oasis will call it quits again before the tour ends. No odds are being given at this for brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher to split up before the tour begins or for them to have a physical altercation on stage during the tour.
