A former American Idol is about to become an Idol judge. Katy Perry is leaving the show and her replacement has been named. Carrie Underwood will join Lionel Richie and fellow country star Luke Bryan in the spring of 2025. Underwood was crowned the winner 20 years ago, during season four. She'll be the first alum in history to join the judges' panel.

There's a new honor for "The Man In Black". Johnny Cash is going to be honored with a statue inside the U.S. Capitol building. A statue of the country music legend will be added to the National Statuary Hall collection on September 24th. The eight-foot-tall statue of Cash will replace the current statue of James P. Clarke, a former Arkansas governor and U.S. Senator.

An animal shelter in Tennessee is gaining national attention thanks to one of its newest residents: a kitten with four ears. True Rescue, outside of Nashville, took in the four-eared feline that was part of a litter found abandoned in a box. Staff members have named him Audio. They'll monitor him for a few more weeks before putting him up for adoption. Staff members say they do not plan to remove Audio's extra ears unless they cause him discomfort.

A classic rock band is back in court. Journey's Jonathan Cain is suing bandmate Neal Schon, again, for overspending on the band's credit card. Schon is accused of maxing out an American Express account with a limit of one million dollars and going over a daily hotel fee cap of 15-hundred dollars. Cain claims Schon has spent up to ten-thousand dollars per night and is arguing these cash strains pose a threat to Journey's reputation throughout the music industry. Jonathan Cain, by the way, lives in Apopka.

This might not be the happiest of days for one pop superstar. Justin Timberlake is set to be arraigned today on a drunk driving charge, nearly two months after his arrest. The singer was stopped by police in Sag Harbor, New York, back in June after driving erratically and performing poorly on field sobriety tests. Timberlake's attorneys maintain that he was not intoxicated at the time and say they're confident the DUI charge will be dropped. Timberlake will appear for his arraignment virtually while he continues his European tour.

An action movie star known for doing his own stunts is about to try another one. Tom Cruise is reportedly working on a stunt to close out the Paris Olympics and pass the flag onto Los Angeles for the 2028 Games. TMZ reports that the plan for the Closing Ceremony will see Cruise rappelling down from the top of Stade de France (the Olympic stadium) with the official Olympic flag. Then the TV broadcast will cut to a previously recorded film showing Cruise flying with the flag from Paris to Los Angeles where he skydives down to the Hollywood sign.
