In case you missed this news over the weekend, we've lost another legendary voice of rock and roll. Doug Ingle, the lead vocalist for Iron Butterfly, is dead. He was the co-founder of Iron Butterfly in 1966 and officially retired in 1999. Ingle wrote the band's hit song "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", which was first released in 1968. He died on Friday surrounded by his family. Doug Ingle was 78.

The remains of an owl who captured the hearts of New Yorkers are going to be donated to science.

Flaco the owl was cut loose from his cage at the Central Park Zoo in early 2023. He died after flying into a building on the Upper West Side earlier this year. His wings and tissue samples were sent to the American Museum of Natural History and will become part of its scientific collection and will not be on display.

Fans of Taylor Swift are renewing their passports to see the singer perform in Europe. Mia Garza-White of San Antonio says they tried to see the pop star in Texas and the tickets were over a thousand dollars. Mia did the math and, for the same price, she could fly to Germany and see Swift in concert there. She is part of a growing trend of what is called "gig-tripping." United Airlines is reporting a 25-percent spike in sales wherever Taylor Swift is playing. Delta has its largest-ever international summer schedule. And Condor Airlines, which has a new non-stop from San Antonio to Frankfurt, is seeing record sales.

A long lost Beatles guitar is up for bids today as part of Julien's Auctions' Music Icons sale. The head of the auction says the 12-string acoustic guitar is the same one John Lennon played on the song "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" in the movie "Help!" The guitar was presumed lost for 50 years until it was found recently in the attic of a home in the British countryside. The auction is being held today and tomorrow at the Hard Rock Cafe in New York's Times Square. Bids can be made online at juliensauctions.com. The guitar is expected to fetch more than one-million dollars.
