Today marks a new chapter for a piece of Walt Disney history. In 1928, Mickey Mouse made his debut in the cartoon, Steamboat Willie. As of yesterday, Steamboat Willie entered the public domain. And while Disney's copyright expires, it's trademark does not. That means anyone can now use the images of Mickey and Minnie Mouse from Steamboat Willie, but not from any other source, like later versions of the two that are still under copyright. Those who use the images should be careful, though. Disney has said it'll work to safeguard against consumer confusion caused by unauthorized uses of Mickey and other iconic characters.

A Florida woman is taking on a candy giant for allegedly having misleading packaging. Cynthia Kelly filed a lawsuit in Tampa against Hershey, claiming the chocolate company deceived consumers. She says Hershey falsely promised that its holiday-themed Reese's peanut butter candies would have "explicit carved out artistic designs." Kelly says she wouldn't have paid four-49 for a bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkins if she was aware that the candies did not actually have the "cute looking" carved eyes and mouth that were shown on the packaging. She is seeking at least five-million dollars.

Former President Donald Trump is denying claims he "bullied his way" into appearing in the 1992 film "Home Alone 2." In a post on Truth Social last week, Trump said the director of the film, Chris Columbus, begged him to make a cameo in the movie. The scene takes place in New York's Plaza Hotel, which Trump owned at the time. This comes after Columbus in an interview said he was only allowed to film in the Plaza if Trump was given a scene in the movie, saying he bullied his way into the film. Trump says "nothing could be further from the truth."
