After six decades of sportscasting, Al Michaels is being kicked to the curb by NBC. Michaels' career includes some of the most iconic calls in sports history, including the "Miracle on Ice" at the 1980 Winter Olympics. Al Michaels was set to call one of NBC's three playoff games next month as an alternate. But the New York Post reports the network will instead go with its team of Noah Eagle and Todd Blackledge. Noah Eagle, by the way, also gets the honor of calling play-by-play for Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants coverage of the Super Bowl.

Hair samples from three former U.S. Presidents are heading to deep space. The samples from John F. Kennedy, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and George Washington will be on board a rocket launched by Celestis early next year. The company specializes in sending remains and DNA to outer space, claiming off-world storage preserves the samples for thousands of years without degradation. Celestis says the DNA of late presidents could help people in the future learn more about U.S. history.

We have yet another "word of the year". Dictionary-dot-com's 2023 Word of the Year is "hallucinate." The website chose the word for its new context relating to artificial intelligence programs. Dictionary-dot-com's latest definition of "hallucinate" under computers and digital technology is "to produce false information contrary to the intent of the user and present it as if true and factual." AI users have used it to discuss the inaccurate and sometimes strange outputs from chatbots that are presented as fact. IBM explains that AI chatbots can "fall victim to these hallucinations."

A burglar with a fetish for women's underwear is stalking a neighborhood in Denver, Colorado. Locals are calling the bandit the "Park Hill Panty Thief", and say he breaks into houses just to steal undergarments. The thief reportedly ignores valuables that most burglars would take, including electronics, money, and medication. A home security camera captured a possible image of the suspect, but the man in the video hasn't been identified. People living in Park Hill are calling on police to catch the panty thief, and say he probably won't stop until he's caught.
