BUD'S BLOG WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25th 2023

We'll talk about the latest developments in the Israel/Hamas war, and Newsradio WFLA National Correspondent Rory O'Neill will join us with a LIVE update at 7:42. In addition, I want you to hear the outrageous anti-Israel speech by the United Nations Secretary General, that triggered a call for his resignation from Israel's UN Ambassador!

You talk about fast moving developments in the news...when I went to bed Tuesday night, the House Republicans leading candidate for House Speaker had dropped out of the race, failing to gain enough support to be eledcted in a floor vote. When I woke up early this morning, Mike Johnson of Lousiana was the new Speaker designee, with a full vote in the House slated for noon today, that could end this search for a Speaker that's dragged on for more than three weeks now!

Here's more on Johnson and the drama on Capitol Hill:

Be sure to be with us at 7:52 this morning as Newsradfio National Correspondent Rory

O'Neill joins us LIVE with the very latest on the Speaker search.

We'll have a chilling update for you on the off duty pilot who tried to shut down the engines of a jetliner with more than 80 people onboard. He reportedly hadn't slept for more than 40 hours, and thought he was having a nervous breakdown while riding in the cockpit jump seat right behind the pilot and co-pilot. Fortunately he was subdued and arrested, but it's clear to me that changes need to be made to keep a situation like this from ever happening again!

There is a huge generation gap when it comes to support for Israel in the war started by the Hamas terrorists. Why is it that older Americans back Israel so strongly, yet younger Americans don't? Let's talk about it!

In what some are calling a political earthquake, the news broke late Monday afternoon that Trump's former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has received immunity from prosecution in exchange for his testimony in the Washington D.C. federal case involving efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. In my mind this is a big deal and a real threat to Trump both legally and politically, because Meadows was by Trump's side from election night right through the January 6th assault on the U.S. Capitol. The question I want us to debate: will this wind up hurting Trump with voters, and if so, how much? I want to know what you think, so be ready to call in to 407 916 5400, use our text line at 23680 or record your comments using our Talkback feature on the iHeartradio app !
