If you're trying to get your ex-girlfriend's attention, try setting a house on fire. Police in Rhode Island say that's what 24-year-old Joao Rego did. They arrested him on on multiple charges, including arson and possession of narcotics. They claim Rego intentionally started a fire at a home over the weekend. He allegedly told investigators that he was trying to get his ex's attention because she wouldn't respond to his texts and calls. The homeowners say they saw Rego running from their yard, and officers found him not far from the scene.

Residents of Utah have something to celebrate. A new report by personal finance website WalletHub found Utah is the most energy-efficient state in the country. The report looked at the efficiency of auto and home energy consumption. Massachusetts took second place and Vermont took third. Florida only ranked 22nd. At the bottom of the list, South Carolina was found to be the least energy-efficient state. This, by the way, is National Energy Awareness Month.

A study shows that seaweed was once a staple food for ancient Europeans. That's according to analysis of molecules from fossilized dental plaque. Prior research suggests that the introduction of farming moved ancient humans away from eating seaweed and aquatic plants. An author of the study from the University of Glasgow said that it's "exciting to be able to show definitively that seaweeds and other local freshwater plants were eaten across a long period in our European past."

An upcoming episode of The Kardashians might feature royalty--or should we say, ex-royalty. Page Six reported that Kris Jenner is working to get Megan Markel and Prince Harry to appear in their Hulu show. An insider said Jenner doesn't want to push too aggressively as the conversation between her and Megan and Harry are "still in the early stages." "The Kardashians" is currently in its forth season and in this week's episode, Khloe Kardashian is expected to confront her mother about cheating on her late father Robert Kardashian.

A new chili pepper has broken the Guinness World Record for world's hottest. Pepper X, created by South Carolinian Ed Currie, registers at just under two-point-seven million Scoville units, the measurement scale for spicy heat. That's nearly three times hotter than the previous record holder, the Carolina Reaper, also created by Currie. Currie says eating a Pepper X is not an enjoyable experience.
