Bono is changing the lyrics to U2's song "Pride (In the Name of Love)," in light of the Hamas attack on Israel. During the band's Sunday night performance in Las Vegas, they paid tribute to the hundreds of people killed during Saturday's attack on the Tribe of Nova electronic music festival. Bono then sang the alternate lyrics that mention the attack's date, October 7th, as well as the Star of David. U2 shared the change on social media with Bono giving a short speech saying the victims are in their heart.

"The Rock" is cooking up a mea culpa of sorts. Dwayne Johnson posting on Instagram after getting backlash for asking people to donate to a Maui wildfire recovery fund. Johnson and Oprah Winfrey launched the People's Fund for Maui in late August and pledged a combined ten-million dollars to kick things off. But some people resented the idea of rich people asking others to give money. Johnson said that he understands that many Americans are living paycheck to paycheck adding he knows what that feels like. He also thanked those who did donate and said that the money is already going to wildfire survivors.

You might remember we had told you about the 104-year-old Chicago woman who recently set a world record for the oldest person to parachute from a plane. Dorothy Hoffner set the record last week after landing on the ground at Skydive Chicago Airport. Hoffner topped the previous record held by a 103-year-old Swedish woman who jumped last year. Sadly, we have to report that Dorothy Hoffner passed away in her sleep on Monday. A spokesperson for Hoffner told the Chicago Sun-Times they were honored that the skydiving experience was able to serve as an incredible cap to her "exciting, well-lived life."

There could be a fight brewing over the writing credits to a song that was a hit 40 years ago. "Every Breath You Take" by The Police hit humber-one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1983. During a recent appearance on a podcast, Police guitarist Andy Summers said "Every Breath You Take" was "going in the trash" until he played on it. Sting is credited as the songwriter but Summers said he believes his name should be added. He didn't specifically say he plans to take legal action, but did suggest to watch "what happens in the next year."
