Paul McCartney says a famous line from the Beatles' song "Eleanor Rigby" was based on something his mother always did. On the premiere of his "Life in Lyrics" podcast, McCartney talked about this lyric: "wearing a face that she keeps in a jar by the door." He said his mother loved to use Nivea cold cream on her face and that's where he got the idea for the lyric. McCartney admitted that he also loves using Nivea cold cream.

Singer Rick Astley has settled a lawsuit with a rapper who he says borrowed heavily from his signature song, "Never Gonna Give You Up." The suit claimed that rapper Yung Gravy hired an impersonator to sing just like Astley. He was so good that listeners thought it actually was Astley singing. Rick Astley asserted that his voice was literally stolen. The two parties entered into mediation on Friday and resolved the case out of court. Details of the settlement have not been disclosed.

Scientists in South Africa have discovered that wild animals are far more frightened by human voices than the sound of lions. In a recent study, researchers planted speakers at watering holes around Kruger National Park that played recordings of people talking. They say nearly all of the animals at the watering holes became extremely frightened by the sound of the voices and ran off. In contrast, they found the animals were much less frightened by recordings of roaring lions. They add that some of the elephants even began searching for the lions.
