Federal officials are investigating after an airplane emergency slide was found in the backyard of a home in Chicago. Officials say the slide is from an United Airlines flight and it caused damage to the home Monday afternoon. The homeowner said he heard a loud boom then went outside and saw the slide in his mother's garden. Officials say the FAA is working with United to figure out what exactly happened.

Taco John's is giving up its claim to the "Taco Tuesday" trademark. The decision comes after rival Taco Bell filed a petition in May with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office to end the trademark after being owned by Taco John's for more than three decades. The CEO of Taco John's said the company is dropping the fight to defend the trademark because it doesn't want to pay the legal fees. Taco John's owned the trademark in every state except New Jersey, where it's owned by a business called Gregory's Restaurant & Bar in Somers Point. A separate challenge from Taco Bell over that trademark ownership is still pending.

Otis the 80-pound dog is safe after a group of teen hikers carried him down a trail. Salt Lake City native Brett Peterson was backpacking with his son when his dog Otis collapsed suddenly. He noticed Otis's paws were bloodied and he couldn't move. They ran into Jeff Eaves and his young men's group hiking together as part of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. The teen boys between the ages of 11 and 14 helped carry Otis down, rotating through some of the most difficult parts of the trail. Eaves praised the boys for being "willing to carry another person's burden, even though the path was rocky."

Authorities say about 55-thousand-dollars worth of Mickey Mantle memorabilia was stolen after it left New Orleans. NOLA-dot-com reports the items were supposed to go to an auction house in Texas earlier this month, but didn't reach their destination. Among the stolen relics are a Player of the Year award given to Mantle in 1957 and a card signed by Mantle and fellow baseball legends Babe Ruth, Roger Maris, and Lou Gehrig. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers.

The Rock’s new Christmas movie is reportedly set to make him the highest-paid actor of all time. Red One, which is expected to debut on Prime Video later this year, will reportedly net Dwayne Johnson a hefty 50-million dollars. If true, that would be the highest upfront fee - not counting backends, shares of box office takings, and other bonuses - for any single actor in Hollywood history. Up until now, the single highest salary for an actor was thought to be Robert Downey Jr. for Captain America: Civil War and Will Smith for King Richard - each getting a total of 40 million dollars.
