One year after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v Wade, and two and a half months after Governor DeSantis signed a 6 week abortion ban into law here in Florida, we'll talk about a serious move afoot to put a 24 week abortion ban on the Florida ballot in the form of a proposed constitutional amendment. We'll talk about a plan under consideration in Orange County public schools to ban students from using their cell phones at any time during the school day. Would this be a good move or a bad move? I like the idea because I think the phones can be a huge distraction for students who should be focused on their studies when they're in school, and not on messaging classmates and checking out whatever's hot on social media. In addition, some school leaders say much of the bad behavior and the violence in our schools can be traced back to arguments that get started on student cell phones. However, there are those who say students should have access to their cell phones during school so they can call for help should there be a mass shooter on campus or some other serious threat. What do you think about banning students from using their cell phones when they're at school? Let's talk!
