There's a new mayor in the city of Tampa. Tampa is making Taylor Swift "honorary mayor" for a whole day tomorrow, the day before her "Eras" tour hits the city. In a video message posted to social media, the real Mayor, Jane Castor, said Tampa has to out do other cities who have honored the star. And Hillsborough County announced it's symbolically changing its name to Swiftsborough County. Taylor Swift will perform at a sold-out Raymond James Stadium for three straight nights, Thursday through Saturday.
The Force is about to be strong again in movie theaters. "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi" is heading back to the big screen to celebrate 40 years since its original release. The news was announced by Disney at its Star Wars Celebrations event in London on Saturday. The first film in the original trilogy, Return of the Jedi will be back for a limited time starting April 28th.
It's graduation season and at one Florida college, that goes for pets as well as people. Eckerd College in St. Petersburg is holding a graduation ceremony today for the pets of graduating seniors. According to Eckerd, the 73 "graduates" include 34 dogs and 15 cats plus three guinea pigs, as well as chincillas, a fish and a frog. Students are allowed one larger pet -- such as a dog -- or two smaller pets -- such as fish, small birds, or hamsters.
Eighty students in a marketing class at Chapman University in California no longer have to take their final exam after one of their classmates won their professor's social media challenge. The professor told the class he'd cancel the final exam if someone could get at least a million views on a TikTok video. One student won the challenge with a simple three second video. The video shows the inside of the classroom, with the professor's challenge projected on the screen. She captioned it, “My professor said if our class got a TikTok to 1 million likes he would cancel the final!! Please like!!!” Within two days, the video hit a million views and the challenge was fulfilled. But it didn’t stop there-since it was first posted on February 1st, it’s now reached nearly five million views.
A source has told news outlets that pop superstar Madonna has been deeply affected by criticism about plastic surgery on her face. As a result, Madonna says she wants to "look more like her old self" before her "Celebration Tour" kicks off this summer. She told Daily Mail she's going back to a "more natural look" and is already undergoing procedures. As for Madonna's tour, it begins on July 15th in Vancouver.

Even a rock star who takes selfies with employees isn't allowed to use the employees' restroom at Target. In a tweet he called "rock star glamor," Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea said he was shopping for nail trimmers and a nose hair trimmer when suddenly nature called. He said there were ten people in line for the store's public restroom and he was told the employees' restroom was off limits. So Flea scurried across the street to a cafe. After a cafe employee threatened to call security, he dashed to another restaurant that did allow him to use their restroom. Flea said he made it "by the skin of his teeth."
