A cow seen hoofing her way through Brooklyn last Wednesday is getting a second chance at life. He's a four-month-old calf that was supposed to go to a dinner plate but after slipping out of a Brooklyn slaughterhouse on Wednesday, he is chilling out in New Jersey. Skylands Animal Sanctuary in Sussex County rescued the young cow after seeing TV news stories showing him running through city streets to escape her fate. He'll join several other calves who've bolted the butcher, as well as goats, sheep, pigs and turkeys. And, they've named her Stewie.

There's a new contender in the chicken nugget wars. KFC is coming out with its Kentucky Fried Chicken Nuggets today. The company says they're 100-percent white meat in addition to being hand-breaded with its Original Recipe. They start at three-49 and come in five, eight, 12, or 36 piece portions. The chicken nuggets are available at participating KFC restaurants across the country.

New research finds that IQs in the U.S. seem to be dropping. A study out of Northwestern University looked at ability scores in four categories, verbal reasoning, visual problem solving, mathematics and spatial reasoning. In all of those categories except spatial reasoning, researchers found scores declined between 2011 and 2018. That doesn't necessarily mean people are getting dumber, researchers note, it could just be that people are getting worse at taking these kinds of tests. Scientists point to many other factors that could play a role, from poor nutrition to media exposure.
