Pop star Shakira says "no fighting" unless you're talking about the Spanish prosecutors who accuse her of tax fraud. The government claims the singer has unpaid taxes amounting to 14-million-dollars from her time living in Spain from 2012 to 2014. Shakira calls the allegations a "smear campaign" against her. On Friday, she filed legal documents in a bid to prove she didn't live in the country long enough to have to pay taxes those years. If she's found guilty, Shakira could face up to eight years in prison and a 24-million-dollar fine.

A Christmas tree in Connecticut is all lit up for the holidays, but this is no ordinary tree. It's a lobster trap tree, sitting off the docks in the Stonington Borough in Connecticut. The 35-foot tree is made out of over 400 lobster traps and buoys, with each buoy hand painted by New England artists.

A cat found inside a piece of luggage at JFK Airport in New York City is back home safely in Brooklyn. "Smells" the cat was found by TSA agents in a suitcase last week bound for Orlando. It turns out "Smells" didn't even belong to the passenger. His owner said he crawled into their houseguest's suitcase while she was at work. Luckily, agents spotted him while the luggage was being X-rayed.

Sadly, Metallica has no Florida dates scheduled.

Merriam-Webster is naming "gaslighting" as its word of the year. The publishing company cited a rise in the word's usage over the past several years as misinformation and conspiracy theories pop up on the internet. Gaslighting is defined both as the "psychological manipulation of a person" and the "act or practice of grossly misleading someone." While the term "gaslighting" dates back to the 1938 play and 1944 movie "Gaslight," Merriam-Webster described it as a "word for our time." Some honorable mentions that made it onto the top ten list include omicron, oligarch, and codify.
