Lots of loose ends to try and tie up politically as we talk about the Democrats securing control of the U.S. Senate, which is a totally inexcusable train wreck for the
Republicans, and the looming fights over who's going to be Senate Minority Leader. Meanwhile in the House, I still think Republicans will wind up taking control, but it's not a sure thing yet. Kevin McCarthy thinks he's going to be Speaker, but if the GOP controls the House there may be a fight for that position. Then, there's the Trump factor in all of this. The former President is being blamed for picking and backing lame candidates who cost the Republicans seats in Congress, yet, he's reportedly going to announce on Tuesday that he's running for the presidency again! We'll have that latest on that melodrama unfolding within the gilded splendor of Mar-A-Lago!

Two entries in our Florida File for Monday's show:
We'll talk about the terrifying scene at a high school football game in Orlando as a deadly shooting erupted in a nearby parking lot while the game was in progress.
Police say they have the young triggerman in custody, but the way things are going, folks in Metro Orlando are going to be afraid to venture out for a night of fun and entertainment for fear of getting shot and maybe killed! This is unacceptable and unsustainable!
In recent months we've had a couple of unsolved mass shootings in Orlando and Orange County, and now this. Our police and political leaders don't seem to have any solutions to the gun violence, so how about we take a crack at at! Be ready to call us at 407 916 5400, get on the text line at 23680 or give us your own recorded ideas using the Talkback feature available on the iHeartradio app.
In the wake of all the power outages and a couple of electrocutions from our two recent tropical systems, it's clearer than ever to me that we need to accelerate efforts to bury all our above ground power lines. It has to happen, but it is enormously expensive to do. At the rate our power companies are burying their cables, experts say it'll take at least 30 years to get the job done. That's not good enough for me, and should not be acceptable to anyone in Central Florida! So, let's talk about how we get this important job done and how we're going to pay for it.

The midterm election results secured a Republican super majority in both the Florida House and Senate, and now, state GOP leaders are vowing to change Florida's 15 week abortion law and make it stricter. What changes would you support? A 12 week limit with exceptions for rape or incest, which don't currently exist? A so-called heartbeat bill outlawing abortion as soon as a baby develops a heartbeat about six weeks into pregnancy....or.....?? We want to know what you think!
Newsradio WFLA National Correspondent Rory O'Neill joins us with the latest on the lingering races that will determine whether or not the Republicans take control of the House from the Democrats. Rory will also spotlight the developing fights for Speaker of the House and Senate Minority Leader. And he'll give us the latest on the ever present Trump factor and the prospects of the former President announcing another run for the White House on Tuesday night. What happens if he does? What happens if he doesn't?
It's your chance to sound off on the topic of your choice on Open Mind Monday! Call, text or record a Talkback and let us know what's on your mind, and we'll listen and keep an open mind whether we agree or not!
