A new book is detailing how Donald Trump once tried to pay his lawyer with a horse. “Servants of the Damned: Giant Law Firms, Donald Trump and the Corruption of Justice ” by New York Times reporter David Enrich details the bizarre occurrence that happened in the 1990's. According to Enrich, Trump owed his lawyer two-million-dollars and had been refusing to pay. When a lawyer from the firm came in person to demand the money, Trump told the lawyer he wasn't going to pay the bill but instead give him "something more valuable." The former President then "rummaged around in a filing cabinet" before pulling out a deed to a horse supposedly worth five-million-dollars. The lawyer refused the offer and allegedly said "this isn't the 1800s. You can't pay me with a horse" and threatened to sue before Trump finally paid a portion of the bill.
