Florida's Controversial Abortion Bill

While the Florida Legislature continues to debate the controversial bill that would ban abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy, there is no question the measure will be passed by the Florida Legislature. The Republicans have the votes and they have the blessing of Governor DeSantis. The question we'll debate on "Good Morning Orlando" is whether an exception for cases or rape and incest should be added to the bill, or not?

Does Florida need a "workers bill of rights" to keep restaurants and hotels from forcing their employees to wear masks on the job, while most of those they serve are free to go maskless? We'll hear Governor DeSantis pitch that idea, and we'll talk about it with you!

Governor DeSantis just made a rare move. He flip-flopped and is now supporting Brevard County State Representative Randy Fine's plan to take a total $200 million dollars from Orange County public schools and from 11 other school districts that defied state law last year and mandated masks in school. The money would then be distributed among the 55 Florida school districts that cooperated with the state. My biggest problem with this plan is taking the money from school district employees who work behind the scenes and make more than $100,000 a year. Some of them may have had nothing to do with the decision to defy state law, and even if they did, I question whether this approach is constitutional, and I can see lawsuits flying all over the place if DeSantis and the Legislature go down this road. So, what about it? By doing a sudden 180 on this issue, has Governor DeSantis made the right call or the wrong call? "Wrong call" gets my vote!

Canada is using emergency government powers to crack down hard on those truckers protesting against COVID mandates. Some of the drastic measures being taken against the" Freedom Convoy" make it seem like the truckers are terrorists, which they definitely are not! Our team will debate this, and, as always, we'll want to know what you think !

Florida continues to be overrun by alligators, who have been over protected by the state for years, causing the gator population to explode to the point where it's hard to feel safe swimming in our lakes or walking anywhere near a pond! The latest Florida plan to pare down the alligator population- expanded hours for the annual alligator hunt. If we want to get serious about reducing the number of gators, what Florida needs is the Budman's plan, which I'll spell out for our GMO and all our listeners!
