Friday, Gov DeSantis signed a pact with the Seminole tribe to vastly expand sports betting in Florida. The legislature will take this up in a Special Session set for May 17th. We'll debate whether big time sports gambling is good or bad for Florida? A reminder that in 2018 Amendment 3 passed with 71% of the vote and gave Florida voters the exclusive right to decide whether to allow casino gambling. There is increased support for sports gambling in Florida, and obviously the Governor wants it. I've never been a fan because I think it will siphon money away from Orlando's family friendly tourist industry. What do you and our listeners think?

As we've discussed several times recently....in almost all of these situations where a black person gets shot by a white cop, the shootings would not have happened if the black person had obeyed the police commands....not resisted and not tried to flee. A story Alan reported on last week makes that point very clearly.
We'll revisit the story of the two black men in Sanford police suspect were involved in the death of the woman whose body was found on the bike trail
in Osteen. One fled and got into a shootout with police. He wound up getting shot 5 times and is now hospitalized and facing serious charges. The other guy did NOT flee. He's fine and has not been charged.
Segment I've titled "They said WHAT?!" Thanks to Melissa we have 3 cuts....Bill Maher ripping young lefties for what they believe in.....Charles Barkley during NBA game saying women in Georgia look like the school mascot....Bulldogs! And, Kamala Harris getting a chuckle out of 2 million women losing their jobs during the pandemic. We'll have fun with all the cuts.
What to do about all the people who still refuse to get vaccinated for COVID19? This has come up on the show here and there, but it's become such a serious problem, I thought we ought to devote a couple of prime talk segments to why there is so much resistance and whether the reasons people give are valid or not. Unless millions more Americans can be convinced to take the shots..and soon... medical experts say we will not be able to reach herd immunity and defeat the virus...and that the longer we see this resistance to the vaccines, the more of these variants will show up which the vaccines may not offer protection for.
