Video Shows Officer Wrestling Teenage Quadruple Amputee To The Ground

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is under fire after a deputy was recorded wrestling a teenage quadruple amputee to the ground during an arrest. Deputies were called to a group home in the Tucson area after the teenager, identified only by his first name, Immanuel, knocked over a trash can and started yelling at workers. When the deputy arrived, he attempted to restrain the 15-year-old for disturbing the peace.

Another teenager in the group home recorded as the officer wrestled Immanuel to the ground before using his weight to restrain the defenseless teen. The teen can be heard cursing at the deputy, who eventually lets him up. As the two continue to argue, the teen who was filming starts yelling at the officer as well. The officer tells that teen, identified as C.J., to mind his own business, but then decided to arrest him as well.

C.J. hands his phone to another person, and the officer begins to place C.J. in handcuffs. The officer then slams the unsuspecting teen's head into the wall. Both teens were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, though the charges were eventually dropped.

KOLD-TV obtained the cell phone video and showed it to the Sheriff's Department. Officials claimed they had not seen the footage before and launched an internal investigation. The officer was not wearing a body camera during the encounter.

Joel Feinman, the Pima County Public Defender, told the news station that he was outraged after he watched the video.

“Men with badges should not be acting this way,” he said. “Men and women who do act this way should not have badges and guns.”
