Miami,Fla. (970 WFLA)-8:00 AM EDT-Storm-force winds moving onshore of the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  Life-threatening storm surge and rainfall expected.

Location  33.1 N, 75.1 W, about 170 miles east-southeast of Wilmington, North Carolina, about 220 miles east of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Maximum sustained winds 110 mph.

Present movement  northwest at 12 mph.

Miami, Fla. (970 WFLA)-8:00 AM Tropical-storm-force winds from Issac are expected soon in the Leeward Islands.

Location  15.2 N,  60.9 W, about 25 miles east of Dominica, about 80 miles south-southeast of Guadeloupe.

Maximum sustained winds 45 mph.

Present movement west at 21 mph.

Minimum central pressure...1006 mb...29.71 inches

Miami, Fla. (970 WFLA)-Helene weakening while moving northward over the eastern Atlantic.  Interests in the Azores should monitor the progress of Helene.

Location...23.5 N 37.3 W, about 1215 miles south-southwest of Lajes Air Base in the Azores, about 1170 miles southwest of the Azores.

Maximum sustained winds...75 mph.

Present movement north at 14 mph.

Minimum central pressure...986 mb...29.12 inches

Miami, Fla. (970 WFLA)-Tropical Storm Joyce is  drifting southwestward with no change in strength.

Location 33.8 N 43.1 W, about 945 miles west-southwest of the Azores.

Maximum sustained winds 45 mph.

Present movement southwest at 6 mph.

Minimum central pressure...1006 mb...29.71 inches.

There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.

Miami, Fla. (970 WFLA)- A trough of low pressure is located over the central Gulf of Mexico.  Although associated shower activity remains limited, upper-level winds are forecast to become more conducive for the development of a tropical depression before the system reaches the western Gulf coast on Friday. 

An Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate the disturbance later today, if necessary.  

Regardless of development, heavy rainfall and gusty winds are expected across portions of northeastern Mexico,Texas, and Louisiana late this week
