President Donald Trump announced that officials from the European Union have agreed to major trade concessions, easing tensions over a brewing trade war. Trump promised that the United States and EU will “work together toward zero tariffs, zero non-tariff barriers and zero subsidies on non-auto-industrial goods.”
Trump announced that the EU would start importing more soybeans and increase the amount of liquified natural gas they buy from the United States.
He also said they will implement an "executive working group" to start reforming the World Trade Organization.
"We had a big day, very big,” Trump said. “We set out to launch a new phase of close friendship between the United States and the European Union, strong trade relationships where both of us will win.”
