New Details About Deadly Ambush In Niger

A new report says the 4 U.S. soldiers ambushed and killed in Niger last week suspected they were being intentionally delayed by villagers before the attack.  The Green Berets had just met with local leaders when they came under fire.  CNN reports that the 12-man team was attacked by around 50 ISIS fighters.  One of the dead, Sergeant La David Johnson, was at one point separated from the group and his body was missing for 2 days.  A Pentagon spokesman said that intelligence reports had said it was unlikely that there was going to be any contact with the enemy the day of the attack.

Otherwise, he said the Army would have devoted more resources ahead of time.
